Walt Disney World Resort

Orlando is of course home to Mickey Mouse and no holiday here is complete without paying a visit to Disney’s Magic Kingdom or indeed the other theme parks that make up the huge Disney World Resort. The Magic Kingdom is aptly named as it offers a truly magical experience, particularly for younger guests who are sure to be enchanted by the surroundings. The three other theme parks in the Disney Resort are Epcot, Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. Epcot in particular is vast in size, so set aside two days to take in everything there. Hollywood Studios is great for film fans, while Animal Kingdom features some of the world’s most spectacular natural enclosures for animals.

Universal Orlando Resort

While Disney is geared towards a younger audience, Universal Studios and its sister park, Islands of Adventure, offer a more grown-up experience. In addition to the rides, a number of spectacular shows such as the Beetlejuice Revue are performed regularly throughout the day. Islands of Adventure currently attracts even more visitors than Universal Studios, mainly due to the absolutely spectacular Wizarding World of Harry Potter. With a full recreation of both Hogwarts and the town of Hogsmeade, this is not to be missed.

SeaWorld

Owned by Universal, SeaWorld in Orlando is much more than just a wildlife park. The daily shows featuring many of SeaWorld’s residents, including whales and dolphins, are truly thrilling and the variety of different marine and freshwater species is astounding. In keeping with the marine theme, the spectacular theme park rides at SeaWorld have names such as Kraken and Manta.

Wet N Wild

For a fun day out at a great price, Wet N Wild on International Drive is hard to beat. While younger members of the family enjoy the thrills and spills of many of the park’s huge water slides, mum and dad can relax on a sun lounger, or float calmly on the Lazy River beneath the blazing sun.

Gatorland

Known as the alligator capital of the world, Gatorland offers something a bit different from the larger, better known attractions in Orlando. The natural swamp surroundings lend an air of authenticity to the place and give visitors the chance to see alligators in their proper habitat. In addition, Gatorland is home to crocodiles and various breeds of snakes and birds. The daily alligator feeding show is worth the admission price alone.

The Sydney Festival Has Much to Offer to Entertainment Enthusiasts

If you or anyone you know plans to take a trip to Sydney, Australia, there is one place that they should check out for great food and entertainment. Sydney Festival 2013 is here with new performances and events for fun and enjoyment. 92 free and ticketed performances are available. On the first day of events, three complimentary outdoor spectacles will take place (a sports/comedy event, a theatre performance, and a dance party). There is a multitude of talks, visual arts, films, dances, and music to encounter. The festival meets the needs for art enthusiasts or lurkers; the young and the elderly; and anyone from Sydney or are just traveling to visit.

There are many places to choose to visit. The Sydney Theatre Company will have a show called The Secret River, which is an Australian tale written by Kate Grenville. School Dance is another performance that is based on high school life. Stuff to do before you get old

The old bucket lists that pop up in articles are usually full of clichés. Is it really necessary to traipse around the globe looking at waterfalls and works of art? Here should be a more exciting bucket list and here it is. The focus is upon pleasure and fun. Forget the stuff that is boring and dull, this list is for those who have a joie de vivre, as well as a good nose for travel.

Shower in a Waterfall

This does not sound too adventurous but when the particular waterfalls are Iguaçu Falls in Brazil, then this takes on a whole different activity. The falls are right on the border of Brazil and Argentina and what a place. The microclimate that exits there ensures that the steamy jungle is full of amazing animals and insects that are hanging around as you walk through one of the trails towards the falls. Boarding one of the boats that will take you up to the falls will not guarantee the perfect shower. The perfect shower comes in the perfect conditions – if water levels are spot on then the captain will steer the boat under the waterfall and that is a great experience. The water is surprisingly warm and will wake up anyone that needs to wash off some of the jungle. Make sure this is on your list!

Dance the Tango

Ballroom dancing has certainly picked up some popularity over the last few years but there is one dance that has captured the world’s attention: the Tango. This Argentinean passionate powerhouse of a dance is a great spectacle when done professionally. However, the skill to do yourself is something that needs to be taught by someone who really knows this dance. Buenos Aires is a hot house of amazing Tango dancers and this is just the city to learn. It is something that will stay with you forever and learning it in this great city makes all the difference.

 Eat Some of the Best Food in the World

The best food is not necessarily served in the most expensive restaurants around the globe. In Zanzibar, the daily food market would earn itself a handful of Michelin stars if it had the chance. The food is served at very low prices, when the sun goes down. Think of row upon row of stalls, steam billowing from the pans as the freshest, mouth watering cuisine is prepared in front of you. It serves the local community well and is one culinary experience that must be tried to be believed. The beaches aren’t bad, either!

There is something to be said for staying in one of the most beautiful snow capped locations on the planet. A skiing holiday in Meribel is not just a perfectly snowy destination, but due to its location in the heart of the three valleys, it is in one of the most breathtaking locations in the world. Even if skiing does not appeal, there are so many activities, shopping and après ski opportunities that it is a must for the list.

What to Shop for in Greece

Greece is a wonderful place to shop, with true bargains in addition to a variety of items you can’t get elsewhere. As with shopping anywhere, be sure to research first and know what kind of value you’re getting.

Clothing and Accessories

- Furs. Kastoria, in the northwest part of the country, is a fur trading hotbed and fur items are sold throughout the country, especially in Athens and Rhodes, where intense competition can produce good bargains.

- Leather goods. Local leatherworkers are noted for quality goods, from jackets to boots, belts, handbags and sandals.

- Jewellery. Top international brands can be found throughout the country, especially in tourist centers like Rhodes, Santorini and Mykonos. As with furs, retail competition can force worthwhile bargains on luxury goods. Visitors to Crete will also find distinctive original pieces produced by local artisans.

Textiles

- Woven goods. Greece is noted for beautifully made tapestries, table linens, carpets and rugs. Since hours of labor by skilled craftsman go into each item, the cost is not cheap, just less expensive than elsewhere. Affordable souvenirs include the colorful rag rugs known as kourouloudes and the equally colorful tagaria, shoulder bags carried by shepherds. For the greatest choice of rugs and tapestries, try Crete.

- Silk and lace. Lacemaking and embroidered silk are traditional crafts in Greece and examples of fine needlework can be found throughout most of the country, particularly Rhodes, Crete and Skyros.

Home Décor

- Ceramics and copper. Greeks have been perfecting their pottery and copperwork for thousands of years. Examples of all kinds, from traditiona1 to modern, can be found throughout most of the country. The abundance of shops and broad range of items and prices makes for happy souvenir shopping.

- Wood. The villages of Arcadia have especially strong wood-working traditions, and hand-carved figures, bowls, spoons and other utensils can be found there as well as throughout most of the country. Items are worked from a variety of local woods and carving boards, salad bowls and utensils of olive wood are abundant on the island of Corfu.

Classical Reproductions

For those who can’t afford that 2,500 year old statue of Zeus at the Archaeological Museum in Athens or the gilt-burnished icon worthy of the Orthodox Cathedral, finely-wrought reproductions of many antiquities can be had. For the best quality items skip the souvenir stands and browse at museum shops or, for religious items, at religious book and gift stores or at shops affiliated with shrines, monasteries and convents.

Food can also be a highlight of a holiday in Greece, but be prepared to eat and enjoy whatever you purchase before you leave the country. The U.K. has tough restrictions against bringing in fresh produce, meat, poultry, honey and many other items, even if it’s only for personal consumption.

Rosario Dawson Joins Amtrak To Celebrate National Train Day, which will take place around the country on May 12, 2012.  This year marks the 5th annual National Train Day, which is put on annually to bring attention to the importance of train travel in American life.

The emphasis of this year’s National Train Day are the advantages train travel offers over other modes of travel when it comes to experiencing America and its cities and towns.  Rosario Dawson agrees that trains offer a unique travel experience, and one that is also environmentally friendly.  “I am delighted to join Amtrak and train fans everywhere in celebrating National Train Day,” Dawson said.  “I love trains not only because they offer a more intimate way to see the country and experience the communities along the way, but also because they are one of the greenest ways to travel, which is a value that has always been important to me.”

The city Café In Birmingham

There is still a lot to be discovered in a huge city of Birmingham. Standing alone with full vigor and courage on the edge of Bindley Palace at City Inn is one of the famous cafes of the city that serve delicate, fresh, and exiting dishes with all that an European twist and tweak. The interior of this restaurant has ditched all outdated style of decoration used in other traditional hotels and motels of Birmingham. Despite of cramming interior with dull lights, pale color sofas, and ordinary brown carpets, The City Café has unique transformation to observe and witness; big wall-glass, tucked in small blue cushion filled chairs, and stylish tables, and it have different interior than most of  Birmingham Restaurants.

Neil Peers has brought a wealth of culinary ethics and values with him that is shown in his dishes and foods. You can order cress salad, Granny smith, grilled English asparagus, tuna, tapenade, fresh loin, white tuna, chicken, mushroom risotto, tarragon, and sea trout.  The menu has an array of dishes to choose from, it’s not easy to make a parsimonious choice after seeing those all complicated names. However, their food has flair of European cuisines with a slight mixture of English foods. You would love to have your mean al fresco sitting in the terrace and enjoy seeing an 18tf ft-high Christmas tree that sparkles under the shinning lights.
